Oliver Higgins

Co-founder, Managing Partner

Oliver is a co-founder of Aquageo and an authority on arid land water resources, having completed water and environment projects on four continents, in regions of critical water scarcity.  His core expertise is advising complex water and environment programs, frequently at the water-energy-food-environment (WEFE) nexus. This includes major national studies in the United Arab Emirates and the State of Qatar, with regional studies performed across the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

Marine Ecology Project Manager

Yanni has built upon her master’s degree in Protected Area Management over the past 9 years to develop a high level of expertise in marine ecology, as well as developing effective project management skills. Her experience in the Middle East (UAE and KSA), covers includes conducting and managing environmental impact assessments, baseline surveys, and critical habitat assessments throughout all project phases. Her broader experience extends to Australia, Central America, and South-East Asia.

Darlyne Bugtong

Marine Ecologist

Darlyne brings 6 years of experience in preserving marine ecosystems and protecting biodiversity across environmental consulting services, research institutions and government agencies. She is a recognised specialist in assessment and monitoring of marine and terrestrial flora and fauna (benthic organisms, seagrass, seaweed, mangroves, and marine turtles), providing essential insights for conservation initiatives.

Coastal Environment Project Management

Erika is an environmental specialist in natural resource management with particular focus on marine and coastal systems. 

Effective liaison with clients and regulatory authorities is a core component of Erika’s role, which has been a key asset in her ability to deliver highly complex permitting projects. She’s provided advisory services for strategic projects in the Middle East including environmental planning and design integration. 

Henri Macnish

Marine and Terrestrial Ecology

Henri brings significant experience to our team across field survey design and leadership, to data interpretation and project management, often performed in remote environments. His experience includes deployment of met-ocean remote sensing stations, implementation of coral management plans, marine and terrestrial ecological survey works and environmental advisory services. 

Razan Alkhamis

Razan Alkhamis

Associate – Environment

Razan brings expertise in environmental science with six years’ professional experience in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. During that time, Razan has gained knowledge providing technical support to both environmental permitting and strategic planning projects. She has coordinated numerous marine-focused environmental permitting projects, providing technical input into the design of environmental baseline surveys, and development of environmental impact assessments and subsequent management plans.  A published researcher, Razan continues to follow her keen interest in marine mammal research and conservation, and more recently in ornithology.

Andreas Schönrock

Andreas Schönrock

Senior Hydrogeologist

Andreas has 8+ years’ experience in the field of hydrogeology with a focus on groundwater exploration, monitoring and sampling campaigns. He’s successfully contributed to major hydrogeological field campaigns with a keen proficiency in understanding and managing groundwater resources, especially in semi-arid and arid regions. He is, furthermore, well-versed in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), utilizing spatial data for hydrogeological assessments. With a solid academic background and his knowledge in planning and managing fieldwork, he brings both theoretical and hands-on expertise to the table.

Marine Environmental Officer

Henry’s 12+ years’ background in marine biology, life sciences, and environmental engineering are a major asset to Aquageo’s data capture programmes. His core skills lie in fieldwork planning, marine ecological studies, coral and fish translocation methodologies, and real-time water quality buoy installations. Henry is also a talented wildlife photographer, contributing many of the photos on Aquageo’s website.

Amir Dakkak

Amir Dakkak

Senior Environmental Scientist

Amir brings expertise in Environmental Consulting with 10 years’ professional experience in undertaking environmental studies and ecology surveys. His experience covers projects across the Middle East (KSA, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, and Jordan). His experience encompasses conducting and managing ESIAs, noise monitoring, terrestrial and marine baseline surveys, phase 1 and 2 soil and groundwater sampling, and environmental due diligence surveys and reporting. He has coordinated numerous marine and terrestrial ecology-focused environmental surveys, as well as led and provided technical input into the design of environmental baseline surveys, and development of environmental impact assessments and subsequent management plans.
