The centrepiece development for Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 program involves a linear city and associated infrastructure in the northwest of the country.
We delivered an environmental impact assessment for the large-scale construction dewatering. The assessment focused on the sensitive terrestrial environment and the supporting aquifers. The assessment included analyses of the aquifer information and 3D numerical modelling to determine aquifer drawdown and salinization.
A flagship oceanarium development is proposed on the Red Sea coast. The facility will require a high throughput of seawater, and a subsurface well intake at the shore has been identified as the lowest environmental impact option.
A group of resorts under development around a lagoon in the Red Sea needed improved transport connectivity. An enviromental assessment was required for the proposed dredged navigation.
Critically endangered flower species were identified in a groundwater dependent habitat, near a major development area of northern Saudi Arabia. Protection measures had to be identified to prevent loss of any of the critical habitat.
